The following attributes (Str, Dex, Focus, Power) affect current (not base) crafting and adventure skill points, at any given time. If you use Spells or equip teched items (Jewelry, Armor, Weapons, Satchels, etc) with Statistic techs or crystals applied, then you can add even more skill points to your current skill.

The below table shows what crafting/adventure skill is affected/boosted by what statistic (Str, Dex, Focus, Power). So by increasing your statisic slightly, you can also increase your current skill slighly on many adventurer/crafting skills.

For example, if you have 147 or 148 Alchemy skill (Current) and you want to scribe a 150 Alchemy skill formula; then by casting Enhance Focus I, Enhance Dex I and Surge of Focus I, you should get 150 or 151, thus able to scribe the formula. If you look below, Alchemy skill gets a bonus; 6% Focus and 1% Dexterity. So by using these Enhance buffs with Focus and Dex; you also increase your current skill points in Alchemy, slightly. You can increase it even more with teched/socketed jewelerly, armor and weapons that have +Foc, +Dex or +Alchemy skills.

Note this skill increase also lets you craft at machines (when you are lower than required minimum skill). Lets say you have 397 Essence Shaping and try to craft Glowing Essence Orbs (Min Skill 400) at an Essence Channeler. Use combinations of Gift of Power, Raise/Enhance Power and Surge of Power and it will raise you over 400 so you can craft. Other examples is mining or quarrying, which is 9% Strength. Cast Gift/Raise/Enhance/Surge of Strength spells to help. This will raise your skills slightly (the same way a Potion would). So in a way, buffing the 2 highest attributes for the skill, is a like using a mini version of potions.

Tip: Craft at locations with Expert/Tier 6 machines, such as guilds/settlements ("Guild: Clearport" and "Guild: Apia" should have expert machines). If you craft at any Expert machine, you will get a +75 skill point increase while using the machine. Lets say you are 200 Armorcraft and need to craft a 260 Armorcraft item, here you can! You can also scribe formulas that are 75 points or less from your current skill level. Note, if you are attempting to scribe a formula, you must open the 'Item Creation' window first, with any another formula using the same skill. ie I want to scribe Journeyman Smithing Hammer (Level 400 Metalworking) and I am 325 Metalworking (Current). I would need to stand next to the Expert machine and open any OTHER formula (with Metalworking skill), FIRST! Once this Make Item (Crafting) window is open, then the system recognizes the +75 bonus. While the crafting window is still open, then go to your inventory window and scribe the formula. If Expert machines are not convenient, then Journeyman shops will give +50, Beginner shops will give +25. If the machine does not have the word Beginner, Journeyman or Expert, when you click it, then it gives NO bonus (Imperial Shops, those found outside of guild/settlment areas (wilderness or towns)).
